MK3 vRS LED Fogs VCDS

Featured Replies

Installed LEDS in my front fogs, looks great now to get rid of the error on the dash.

Have VCDS if anyone can post the steps that would be greatly appreciated.

*Is it also possible to turn off the little 5W sidelights? I think they're rubbish looking being yellow and hardly visible.

TIA

can you post the link to the exact led bulbs you bough for the front fogs t if possible?

thanks

Fog light LED coding
(1)-Leuchte12NL LB45-Lasttyp 12 (FOG left inner) from “10 - allgemeine Scheinwerfer” to  6 – LED Lichtmodul
(1)-Leuchte13NL RB5-Lasttyp 13 (FOG right inner) from “10 - allgemeine Scheinwerfer” to  6 – LED Lichtmodul
(1)-Leuchte8FL LB39-Lasttyp 8 (FOG left outer) from “10 - allgemeine Scheinwerfer” to  6 – LED Lichtmodul
(1)-Leuchte9FL RB2-Lasttyp 9 (FOG right outer) from “10 - allgemeine Scheinwerfer” to  6 – LED Lichtmodul
All works perfectly, allgemeine Scheinwerfer = general spotlight

You can change the 5w eyelashes for led's too.

VRSIRE, could you confirm the size?

one thing I noticed there's small clips on the rear of the fogs. These need to be popped off with a screwdriver. (Sliding a flat head along the back of the bulb with pop it off. You'll see what I mean when you get your hands on it). They're a bit of a pain to get off and all they seem to do is help keep the bulb centered. These H11 above are a snug fit so I didn't bother replacing. This was the only difficult fiddly bit the install otherwise is very simple. I'd recommend connecting the LED First and then installing much easier

I thought fog lights were H8  bulbs!

The ones I took out were actually H16 but H11 fit perfectly

Thanks. The vRS fog bulb seems to be H16.

Not a lot of difference between H8, H11 & H16.

H16 is 19W H11 is 55W

I found this -

"The biggest difference between H8, H9, H11 and H16 are both the wattage levels that they run at and whether or not they have a painted on reflector cap at the top of the glass tube. H16 is most commonly used in fog lights, whereas the H11 is most commonly used in headlights. Therefore, you’ll see H11 bulbs that look almost identical to H16 bulbs but have higher wattages than H16 and they will also have a slightly different pin configuration, but with some manipulation you could swap an H16 and H11 around if you really wanted to."
