Octavia 1.6TDI.... What lowering springs? and pics b4 n after please

Featured Replies

Hey guys just bought a 1.6 tdi a week ago. Absolutely love it and have been playing already with new alloys, front mudflaps, windows  tinted and wind deflectors. There are just a couple of small jobs I want to do now and the first is lower it around about 30mm. What's the best springs for this? any links? and any b4 and after pics of your car after doing the same . Thanks Dave

For 30mm lowering you'll want eibach pro-kit.  I used part number E10-79-010-04-22 for my 2.0tdi from here.  There is a table at bottom of the page that says they fit the 1.6 too.  I forgot to do a before pic and haven't done an after pic yet.  Looks wise the car just looks much more how it should.  No big gap over the tyres.  performance wise the car is now a lot more stable while cruising, supportive through corners and can handle bumps better.  One negative is that it is more jiggly.  Small undulations cause the body to roll and pitch.

Thanks for that much appreciated and a pretty good price as well 🙂

You may just want to check the axle loading of your vehicle as there are different variants of the Eibach Pro springs for different axle loads.

I have the 1.6 tdi estate and the axle loads were 980kg front and 970kg rear. I went for Eibach part number E10-79-010-03-22.

Take a look here for all the options which show the max axle loads http://web2.carparts-cat.com/default.aspx?230=1&1271=48&1272=a2520027-2cb2-4103-94fd-358d475644c1&1273=1&36=0&35=112&32=58760&34=0,2047566&14=1&10=409480F45F8C4DF1B8BA2DE54F57CCED279001&12=130

I got mine for £110 delivered from eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EIBACH-PROKIT-Federn-VW-Golf-SEAT-Leon-SKODA-Octavia-E10-79-010-03-22/273608795004?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
