Oil filter location: MK3 2.0 tdi cr 2013

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'll need to do a quick oil change on my car (2013 MK3 2.0 tdi cr with the CKFC engine code) this coming weekend and wanted to check if anyone knew the location of the oil filter please. I suspect it's underneath the car as I had a quick look last night and I couldn't see it but in my defence it was chucking it down and the light was disappearing fast.  I've tried looking in Youtube too but I'm struggling to find a conclusive answer.

I'm trying to ascertain whether I can use my Pela 6000 extraction pump and do the oil change from the top or whether I'll need to do my ramps out and get it in the air.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'll follow the thread as well. Havent got a clue where mine is!

Yes you can use the owls and it makes it cleaner, but no you need to get under to get the filter.

There's a recent thread entitled "Oil and filter change" that goes into some detail on where it is. Forum search should find it.

Thanks. I’ve tried searching but no luck. Was it in Octavia Mk3 section of the forum? Any chance you could post a link please? Thanks

Don't think I can post a link from my primitive phone.

It was by VRS_White_Hatch sometime last week and it comes up if you search under that title on "This Forum"

Ahh thanks I managed to find it using the details you provided so thanks.

I've had a read of the thread and it's related to a petrol octavia VRS so it might be similar to my tdi in terms of sump and filter location but I was hoping for a definitive user guide.  Thanks again.

Would think this guide might help..

Thanks so much; that seems like a very detailed post.  I've bookmarked it and will read up again later (on lunch break)
