8v or 16v pd140?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Ile be getting an 08 Octavia 2ltr TDI pd

Says it's the 140bhp version, but when I looked into getting a remap there was graphs showing 8v and 16v

How do I tell which one Ile be getting?

And when did they start doing dpf's? Will mine have one?

Cheers guys

Only the 4x4 or Scout got the SOHC 8V.

If it doesn't have 4x4 or isn't a Scout then it should be a DOHC 16V.

The SOHC 8V engines all have a DPF.

The DOHC 16V PD140 2WD fitted in the Pre-Facelift MkII Octavia does not have a DPF.

When viewing the car take a look at the build sticker, there will be one in the spare wheel well and another inside the front cover of the service booklet. The 3-digit code for the DPF is 7GG, or it will be called out specifically...

Face lift cars don't have one up until 2010 either, my early 2010 (59 plate) BKD is without DPF - precisely why I bought it.
