Puddle Lights

Featured Replies

They were optional and included with the electric folding mirrors.

Can they be retro fitted

Yes, either by fitting highline door controllers and wiring them into the loom (I have no pin data for that) but if you are going to do that then you may as well fit folding mirrors too. You’ll need VCDS to code this on the radio though. The simple way is to tap into the loom for the red light in the door but then they only come on with the door open. £14 LED panels off eBay and 2 lengths of wire compared to £400 odd for folding mirror parts is a bargain however :)

Thanks  SashaGrace for reply not really bothered about folding mirrors never had them on any of my other cars

Slightly off topic, I have folding mirrors, is it possible to swap out the puddle lights for LEDs?

Yes. I recommend the aftermarket ones over the OEM ones. I had aftermarket ones and then got OEM ones and the OEM ones are mega dim in comparison and aren’t as useful so I’m going back to my eBay aftermarket ones.

Thanks Sasha, ordered some from eBay and watched the SuperSkoda video for fitting instructions. Cheers for that.
