Octavia Fault codes

Featured Replies

Mrs just came in and engine management light on our 2019 Octavia 1.0 has came on.  Popped in the Carista and it reads five faults ?  Are they linked to one fault ?

P003A (Turbo Confirmed and pending)

262912 Central Electronics (Alarm)

9453073 Instrument Cluster (Fuel)

16434 Engine (Lambada)

All in one go makes me think something has had a knock on effect as it’s the first we knew anything was wrong.  The reasons in brackets are just a google so unsure if correct.  Please could someone kindly confirm.  Very much appreciated for anyone’s time and input.

It's under warranty let the local dealer sort it out for you and make sure you get a courtesy car while they fix it.

Just interested to know really.  Bit surprised to see so many faults pop up.  In more than 30 years of driving it’s the first time I’ve had a fault light come on.

We had 4 fault codes on our Karoq a few weeks ago and it was faulty key fobs causing all the problems. Had to wait 2 weeks for new ones under warranty and now car works perfectly. Dealer tried to tell me it was dead batteries in both key fobs but they kept failing to open the car and finally gave in a replaced both key fobs. Maybe you have a similar problem.

It’s running ok and booked in for tomorrow, hopefully it’s a quick fix as we are going away Wednesday, couldn’t of timed it any worse.  Yeah it’s under warranty but if they need it in for any amount of time we will then have trouble getting cases in the other car a Pug 308cc, not much space in the boot and not much fun for three adults and a teenager.

Blimey, dealer got back to us, it’s a completely seized turbo.  New turbo going in on a car that’s only done 3,214 miles !

Should add credit to Marshall’s Barnstaple as they have started work to strip out the old turbo and it should be ready tomorrow.

Will it be fixed for your holiday?

Should be ready tomorrow lunchtime, we were planning to leave around then anyway.  The demand for a courtesy car of equal size seemed to us to force the issue.

Good luck hope it's completed on time for you. Shocking that it would fail so early.

Cheers, hope so.  If not it’s going to have to be a two car journey.  The 308cc is too small in the back, lads car is a 207 so equally less space what with the dog too.

Yes slightly worrying that the turbo should go on them miles.  But these things happen and they are cracking on with it, does make me slightly concerned though.  Did give an excuse to look over the Kamiq, tempted to garage the 308cc, using it for sunny days and get a Kamiq for my commute.

Well good news they kept to their promise and it’s all sorted and ready to collect.

Marshall Barnstaple do seem to be pretty good, I've only got positive experience of them too.

Think we may have a Friday Lemon !

Mrs texts me car leaking oil/fluid.  Get home and yes a leak, put Carista on and comes up with an ABS fault.  Strangely enough she had text me earlier with a low tyre pressure warning.  So at a guess there is a brake leak now and explains earlier tyre pressure error as they use ABS to monitor pressure I believe.  Fluid had iridescence to it but wasn’t engine oil.  So back it goes !

Car all done, again.  Leak due to an oil leak on the turbo.  Comment from dealer was it’s inconclusive if the leak was due to them when it was replaced or if it was just a coincidence.  Errrr ???  Wait you replaced the turbo and the. We get an oil leak on the turbo !!!!  Then make the comment it wasn’t done under warranty, they just did it ????  Doesn’t seem right to me ?

Oh no. I have all the faults you did plus an ABS one plus EPC and engine lights. Car hadnt been driven for 2 months prior to the warnings. Off to the stealers Monday then.

Now I’m getting upset !  (Polite way to put it). Leaking again !

  • Author

Another two seals replaced, let’s see if that works !  In the meantime a complaint has been made with Skoda U.K.

Mine has an oil leak too immediately after the new turbo went on.

I spoke to someone from Skoda U.K. today as I put a complaint in.  If a fault develops on a new car to me it should take one visit to repair not three.  They agreed and said they will contact Marshall’s as they feel they owe us some form of compensation, so we wait that.  Thankfully the lady at Skoda U.K. was great and understood my concerns.

All the best sorting yours.

Had a nice food hamper from Skoda U.K. yesterday for the “experience”. Fair play to them a nice hamper.

The saga continues.  Decided to wash the car this morning.  As always part of my routine is to check levels and top up wash bottle. So on checking the oil it’s just under half way to what it should be on dipstick.  No signs of any further leakage, so can only assume it hasn’t been topped up.  Car has been sat their for a good week as I can’t go out as I’m in a at risk health group.  Lucky for Marshall’s they are closed as I’d be in reading them the riot act now.

Did you check the oil when the engine was warm as you are supposed to on these cars?

I know that it seems strange because on every other car I've owned over the last 40 years the instruction was to check the oil level when cold but ....

Maybe Marshalls filled/checked the oil level with a warm engine, and if you checked it with a cold engine the level would be lower?

  • Author

Checked it cold and contacted Marshall’s through Facebook messenger.  They rang and said to try on a warm engine, but it didn’t make any difference.  Not that I expected it too as under half way on the dipstick and oil only expanding to around 4% when warm.  So I am topping it up and we will see how it goes.  I’ve a feeling it wasn’t as full as it should of been after leaving them.
