Yes, I did have a read through the couple of other threads - although they all end with ordering stuff from AliExpress - I'm not completely adverse to doing this, but do like quicker and UK based solutions where possible.

Replacing Reversing lights with LED.

Just wanted to confirm a 380/P21/5w LED would be the correct replacement?

Also, as these are external lights - any coding required to make sure I don't get any bulb out warnings?

I swapped my rear indicators, reversing and rear fogs without having to do any changes.

 

They were ebay specials and they did say canbus safe. Usually when they say canbus safe, it normally means 'canbus never going to work as long I've a hole in my polo', however these did actually work with no coding.

 

I'd throw them in and see if you get an error.

I understand what you mean, but does it REALLY matter if you get them quickly or not?! They're only reversing lamps, after all! I ordered the LED upgrade reversing lamps from AliExpress, as recommended on here. They only took about 2 or 3 weeks to arrive, and as per other posters findings, they work perfectly with no problems at all once I fitted them. A decent upgrade to the standard bulbs too.

Oh - not so much the speed they arrive - rather if they don't work there is all the fun of returning items. However if I buy from Halfords or Ebay I've got a quick and easy return system.

 

It was more the coding - I have VCDS, but if coding was required I was looking for what and where. I have VCDS for convenience, I'm by far no expert on said software.
