Random connector

Featured Replies

Hi I'm new here and was hoping for some help

I recently brought some after market speakers for my parcel shelf and whilst looking in the boot I came across two connectors. One on either side.

So I thought the connectors might be for speakers but when I cut one of the connectors off while the car was completely off I got a spark now I'm not very mechanical minded so if anyone could tell me if the know what this connector is for would be much appreciated the only thing I can see on it is the VW and Audi logo

Boot lights?

You really shouldn't be randomly snipping connectors off your car if you're not very technically minded.

+ 1 for boot lights & +1 for the following response.

Next port of call should be the fuse box.

You've probably blown fuse number 4 (10 amp) in the fuse box on the end of the dash.

Stuffing 12volts onto a speaker might not have been a good idea long term!

+1 for the postings after my first one.

Tip for the future, confirm what a random unused connector is used for, then leave alone if not of any use for your current project, always fit new wiring and if needed connectors.
