15" steel wheels with 288mm brakes

Has anyone one had experience of the above combination? Is there enough clearance round the caliper?

288mm front discs will allow the fitment of 15" steel rims.

312mm front discs will allow the fitment of 16" steel rims.

340mm front discs will allow the fitment of 17" steel rims.

Unlike the Skoda Octavia MK1, the Skoda Octavia MK2 and MK3 never came with 256mm front discs so you can't fit 14" steel rims.

I have 15'' steel rims for winter for my Mk2 Octavia. Brake discs - 288 mm. Everything is fine.

I believe the my SEAT Toledo (Skoda Rapid) has 288mm front brakes. I've been riding on 15 steelies since new without issues.

Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking about taking my TDI RS Octavia to a track day, but I know that the stock oil cooling is a critical weak point. My question is whether there is an OEM+ solution out there, like using a Crafter oil cooler, or if I should go with an external oil cooler instead. On top of that, how plug-and-play is an external oil cooler setup?

Anyone else aware of a droning sound? On journey home from the dealership I was soon aware of a muted but constant droning. This was in marked contrast to the 'drone-free' 1.1 DSG Kamiq which I'd had for the previous three years. I've had the Karoq now for a few months and, with the exception of the droning, I'm pleased. At this point I have a confession: Karoq test drive was exclusively in-town streets. Previous car was 1.1 Kamiq SE DSG. The three years with it had been a superb experienc

Well strange predicament due to dads age and alzheimers diagnosis he shifted his car to me. Pretty damn nice car 1.8T DSG 2014 less than 20k, packed with as much as mine has and more besides like adaptive cruise, folding mirrors. Not sure I need 2 though longer term tho....useful for now though as my petrol vRS similar vintage really could do with a clutch <80k miles so I am grateful for it regardless ! Not exactly the slow option either, obviously not quite as good as a 2.0T but better eco

Hi , hope someone can shed some light on a this . On an 2021 Octavia fault says. The regeneration frequency of Diesel Particulate Filter is not ok , says the fault is permanent . Car is due to go for software update , would this have something to do with it. Thanks
