Parking sensor modules question...

Featured Replies

Can anyone please tell me what the difference is between the following parking assist modules?

3T0919475A

3T0919475B

3T0919475C

3T0919475D

Do these all do the same job?

i have front and rear sensors.

Thank you.

More than likely they're different versions of the same part. Any of them should work I think - what are you trying to do?

Do you have 8 or 12 sensors?

I think all the part numbers you've mentioned are for the 12 sensor version. They all run different software versions so depending on the age of your car, the wrong one *might* have compatibility issues...

OK so I have an ongoing issue with my park assist.

When I switch it on it shows the parked cars on the right instead of the left side as it should be.

I have another module I was going to fit to see if it makes everything as it should be. Its obviously a used module but from the same model as mine.  Will it need to be coded or will it be a straight swap over?

Should have said, mine is a B module but the one I plan to use is an A.

It might work but ideally, you'd still check and recode the replacement module.

Get a VCDS autoscan with the existing module as that might give some clues and will also confirm the existing coding.

I think I'll take the side panel off tomorrow and just switch them and see what if any difference I get.

What's the worst that can happen at the end of the day!

Can you not switch the cabling from/to the sensors side for side?

Another possibility, on my Chinese head unit it initially showed the door open symbols on the wrong side and thinking about it probably the parking sensors as well until I accessed the factory set up menu and changed it from LHD to RHD.

Now I know that it does not show the steering wheel but the VAG logic is drivers and passengers side and it will get things backwards if LHD is set instead of RHD. Maybe the module needs coding for LHD or RHD?

In this instance, probably not much can go wrong. However, randomly replacing other modules can cause the ABS pump to lose it's coding which is not trivial to recreate ;)

It not that the sensors are working in the wrong order. When the OP turns on the auto parking (PLA) it's default behaviour seems to be looking for spaces on the wrong side of the road. I imagine it can probably be fixed by coding or adaption but without scans, it's hard to be sure!

OK, luckily I dont have any of that BS, but it definitely sounds like a simple coding job to resolve it.

I say BS with an ironic smile on my face, not long ago I would have said the same about reversing sensors and a reversing camera but having bought my car with the former and added the latter through boredom I would not want to be without either now 🥴 although the parking sensors were a complete pain in the butt triggering for no reason which I could never resolve yet when i added te head unit which displays their signal for some reason that all resolved itself.
