Window bounce back issue

Featured Replies

Passenger side window frozen this morning. Tried to open (to see out of a t-junction - not because I fancied some minus 2 fresh air !) before realising was frozen solid. Later, once unfrozen, when opening window if I try to 'auto close' using the armrest button the window gets to the top but then bounces back down to half way again (like it might if something was stuck in it). Suspect needs re-setting as trying to open it when frozen shut has confused it ? Have manually close by 'tickling' the button to get the window to the top. Car is VRs 245 and is 6 months old. Anyone know what i need to do? Thanks

Update....have tried the 'do it 3 times' thing and it has now stopped at the top - but the 'auto up' when you fully pull the switch seems not to be working (if I take finger off switch window stops). Maybe see what happens tomorrow ! Thanks all.

Thanks John99boy. Will give that  a try tomorrow 🙂

Related but not - cool little story.

I'd had an issue with my drivers window on my Mk2.5 - once or twice I'd one-button pressed and the window had got almost to the top and then re-opened.

Literally it had happened about twice over the last year I owned the vehicle.

I went to an automated carwash, was in a hurry, car with filthy. Open window, entered code into the keypad. One-button pressed to close window, saw it closing.

Drove forward, sat back ready for the car wash - panic as the car started filling with water and foam as I was grabbing for the button in an attempt to get the window closed.

Never trusted a one-touch close without watching it close since :)
