Correct sump capacity

Featured Replies

On my service record I have always been charged for 3.9 litres of oil and the level is up to the crank in the dipstick (marked A in the handbook). Every piece of literature mentioning sump capacity says that the sump holds 3.6 litres. I am sure I read somewhere that since the modified chain tensioner the sump capacity has been increased to 3.9 litres. Why hasn't Skoda literature been corrected to state this?

Here is the Fabia Chart which will do.

Note the capacity change in 2011 for 1.2 TSI engines.  Many dealerships never did.

(I firmly believe as some techs did the 1.4TSI Twincharger capacity was and is still wrong and should be 3.9 litres, but VW stuck with what they started with.)

Thanks for that. I suppose as the Roomster was a model to be discontinued the Handbook supplied was from old stock and not worth the money for a reprint.

To be honest since first oil change they put in my 1.2Tsi 77KW 4 litres of oil. Once they managed 4.2 litres and yet the dipstick was at the top marker and never above it.
