Superb iii Estate TDI 190 Sportsline 4x4

Featured Replies

Hello all

I drive a 2016 superb estate Sportsline DSG. Generally like the car however the suspension is far too soft, both compression and rebound. In fact it is now so bad (I have lost three tyres and one wheel in two years on potholes), that I need to upgrade the suspension or change the car. I spent a few weeks before Xmas talking to Skoda and third party suppliers. Unfortunately I received conflicting information from the third party suppliers so didn’t go ahead. FYI Skoda themselves were wholly unhelpful.

The car is not fitted with DCC which I thought would make things easier but apparently not, so my question is has anybody successfully upgraded their suspension to improve the handling?

When I spoke to Bilstein they suggested a set of B8’s with Eibach springs. The problem with that was that that would further lower the ride height, about 15mm. I live in a rural community with some of the poorest roads in the country so I wanted to avoid further lowering the ride height. The other problem I ran into is that according to Bilstein the front springs come in three ratings depending on front axle weight which I couldn’t confirm.

I look forward to hearing from any out there who can help.

Check this out.....

Someone I know has a set of h&r springs for sale for a diesel estate if you are interested. I’ll ask if you fancy them cheap. Would be worth trying them at 100 quid and see if that gets to what you want before you spend a lot of weave on full suspension
