Boot button not working

Featured Replies

My 2009 superb boot button stopped working. The boot still releases with the key.

When I press either boot button nothing happens, no noise or lights.

Is there a easy fix for this or is it a new button replacement.

On a side note the rear lights keep throwing up errors even thought they work fine.

It's possible that the wiring in the hinge area between the two "lids" is broken - common problem. This has been covered in various posts in the forum.

Hope that helps,

You are right about 4 wires broken, its been repaired in the past.

Fiddly job because the wires are so short and the conduit has sleeving stuck inside hard to pull the cable through. Hope It doesn't happen to me again.

Broken wires that have been repaired in the past would mean any electrical gremlins at the rear of the car would have me looking for further broken wires in the same area.

The spurious blown bulb warnings, are they for the same bulbs, or seemingly random?

The Superb does have a particularly finicky system, even slight changes in resistance from a failing rather than failed bulb can trigger the warning.
