A few weeks ago I found that the 'all windows auto open' function that is activated using the key fob button was not opening the windows on or Roomster. I can open all but the above mentioned window using the individual door switches and the driver door control switches.

Having looked through some of the issues posted here I can see that there are multiple possible reasons and associated solutions. Before I attempt to take anything apart (more in hope than anything else!) I wondered if I could check if there is a particular course of action that I should take.

 

I have so far tried the recommended reset via door key turn and the holding switches solution without success.

The central locking is working on all doors and if the rear door is opened it shows a dash warning. Also the interior lights operate as expected when the door opened. I believe failure of these would have pointed to a wiring connection issue? It is not a fuse as that would have taken out another window.

I do not have a diagnostic code reader so unfortunately can't check that possibility.

As the door trim panel, grab handle and switch are made of hard plastic I know that care will be needed when removing. I thought to start with the door switch but this is is extremely resistant to easy prying with a plastic spatula so rather than force it I have ended up here seeking a few helpful pointers.

I have a door trim removal schematic (for a Fabia) downloaded from a workshop manual site which refers to levering out this switch but it seems to require a particular technique?

Lastly this may be unrelated but some time ago while cleaning I came across a single strand of brown wire under the carpet of the rear seat. It looked like it had been connected to something as the end had bare copper. I taped this and ignored as it did not seem to affect anything. Might this have some bearing on this issue?

My thought in summary is that there might be a problem with the motor but would that not have blown a fuse?

Sounds like you have a dodgy wire in your door loom, my roomster has the same problem although its behaving itself at the moment sometimes none of the windows will work. Take a look at the door connection, look for any loose pins or frayed or broken cables (beware sometime the rubber coating looks normal with the break inside)

Skoda skimped on earlier roomsters and made the door loom tight, With years of opening and closing the drivers door it can lead to breaks or intermittent problems.

 

With regards your Brown cable, if it was under the carpet in the rear beneath the passenger seat drivers side, it may well be from your fuel pump / fuel gauge sender unit.

Spelling error

Similar problem. My girlfriend tried to shut a towel in the passengers side window but didn't know about the safe opening so tried several times. Both front windows open on the drivers switch but the passengers side will not open window. Had a  check round fuses interior and under bonnet. All good. Tried the key reset in door. Is there a fuse inside the door panel? I am away from my tools for another week or so . I have a multimeter here. Hoping its and easy fix???

There is a fuse on the main panel in the drivers side,  Its a possible cause but then again it could be the switch on the passengers door, if the window can be opened using the drivers side switch panel then I wouldn't think its a door wiring loom problem as power is getting through ok.

If working with drivers switch then it also rules out motor problems.

I'd check the fuse and switch out first (easier to do) .

Have you tried to reset the window system, using the drivers key?
