Alarm siren 01134

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have the alarm Siren code error. All the fuses are ok and it still works Iam wondering if its telling me the battery in the unit is low or about to give up?

Is it just a case of swapping it out if so is the location under the drivers side wheel arch?

Thanks

Yes. It is either wiring or more likely failing battery in the unit.

Yes offside wheel arch. Need to remove wheel, liner.

Sounds good before I do this does anyone have the part number for the Siren?

You'll need to me a bit more specific about your car, first, such as model year?

I need to update my details!

Here's an article I've been working on about the alarms.  Needs completing as regards DIY fixits but otherwise should have all the detail you need.

VAG (Skoda) alarm unit 1K0951605C

If your alarm is faulty and needs fixing / replacement here are some options:

1) new. cheapest via aliexpress.com from £40, delivery 2-8 weeks normally.

2) used, ebay or direct from a breaker, from £20 or so BUT the battery may be duff just like your existing one.

3) DIY fixit and replace your own battery.  A do-able DIY job with care, details available on Briskoda or the web. Problems: getting hold of a suitable replacement battery and not finding the old battery has leaked inside the alarm and killed part of the electronics

I will update with links to fixits anon.

Ok so my new part via Ali Express has arrived my only question is drivers side or passenger side wheel arch? My ear is telling me drivers side.

Does anyone know if I will need a pop rivet gun?

Thanks

I think it may have had a pop rivetted security cage but I managed to bend it out of the way to remove and refit.

My Ali-Express unit was a false economy, it did not function and with it connected I now get a further no communication fault code to/from the interior sensor that I did not have before, so instead of getting rid of the "no comms with alarm module" one I got one more

Does it make life easier if you take the wheel off?

Yes, Offside!!

In my mk5 golf the cage was pop riveted and a pain to drill out and even more a pain to install. Had to buy a compact pop riveter. In the mk2 FL vRS I have, the cage was screwed in place which was easier and could be swivelled out of way.

If it is pop riveted there will be no choice really.

@TheClient How long do you think it takes?

Took me too too long on the golf. On the octavia, probably an hour.

Well the Skoda took my 45mins I was not going at a blazing speed. Job done and this is something any DIYer can do big savings to be made!
