Anyone ? Please ,ive tried a search and cant find info i need.

I haven't changed the oil myself, but bought all the parts and gave them to and indi garage. I supplied them with the oil, a filter and a new OEM sump plug. It's only a few quid.

Cheers for reply scott just need to know if drain plug is reusable before i do it .

I'd avoid reusing a plastic one.  Especially due to the cheapness of a replacement.

For what they cost, I would suggest buying a new sump plug. You don't necessarily have to use it, but at least you have it if needed.

I replaced mine, when I did an oil change 2 months ago.

I used a tool rather than a flat blade, ebay item number 121929376081.

Cheers guys .

I done my oil last year and I’m going to do it again today or tomorrow. I always replace the sump plug. I personally used a flat blades screw driver to remove and fit the new plug and it was fine.

Cheers for that stu have ordered a new plug so will do it when it arrives 👍

I reused mine only because I forgot to get a new one and remembered halfway through the oil change. Just about due for another service and I've been checking the plug regularly, so far no problems.

At the risk of being accused of hijacking the post (apologies in advance) is there a reason for not using a vacuum pump?

Yes ive not got one and its just as easy to drian it via the drain plug.

Also the drain plug method rids the sump of more junk. I have a vacuum and use it to refresh the oil between proper changes and only do filter at proper change. 15 min job to do just the oil.
