Has anyone fitted finer custom type mesh to the lower grill aperture of a Mk3 Octavia. Do you have to take the front bumper off? I recently had to have a new A.C. intercooler fitted costing £750!!! Was not a happy bunny, a stone had gone straight through the core. The garage said fitting mesh might interfere with the air flow. You see a few custom cars with this sort of stuff fitted. There are three rads fitted with the most expensive one being the most susceptible to damage.

Pretty sure @Auric Goldfinger did this for the same reason, but behind the existing grille?
