Afternoon all, I've just fitted a Mk3 VRS DSG paddle shift wheel to my Mk3 Fabia. On the gear up paddle it also says "off". What is this meant to do and is that a special press I.e. long hold or double tap etc.

If you've tapped the paddles whilst in auto to get temporary manual control (rather than knocking the DSG selector to the manual position) then holding the upshift paddle will return to auto mode (it will also return to auto itself if you haven't shifted manually for a while - 20 or 30 seconds, something like that)

 

That's certainly how it functions when it's on the Octavia, whether it will do all that as retrofit to a different model i don't know - i suspect it may require some coding at a minimum.

Thanks guys, I'll have a play during my next essential trip out. All the other functions work great with no coding needed. It's like they just didn't bother supplying it with the flappy paddle wheel.

Now I know what it's meant to do I'll test it out, I won't be bothered if it does nothing. Thanks again to you both with the speedy reply 👍

I imagine it will do it as I fitted a fab wheel to my octi and it works as described. After the initial honeymoon of playing I thought I wouldn't use the paddles much but it's great to be able to drop a gear when slowing or entering a corner.  Enjoy it.
