Infotainment system

Featured Replies

I have a 2016 Fabia 1.2 TSI 110BHP, and have an issue with the Infotainment system. On starting the car this week, the "welcome to Skoda" comes up on the screen then stays there for about 20-30 seconds before going off and then coming on again with "Welcome to Skoda, it seems as if it is constantly trying to reboot. I have tried to reset the system by pressing the power button as per the manual which then goes into the reboot and the "Welcome to Skoda" comes back on again and into the same loop. It doesn't go any further. I have also removed the fuse for the infotainment system and refitted to see if that would correct the reboot, but alas not. The USB must also be connected to the same system as this is also not working now either.

Any help would be grateful or does this look like a trip to the dealer for a new system?

Many thanks

David

Do you know what unit it is? Swing, Bolero or Amundsen?

I think it might be a Bolero. I don't have sat Nav. I have checked through the owners guide, however I cant work out the difference between them all, but my guess is a Bolero, unless you know a way of identification that could help. David

Frustratingly difficult to get the 2016 Fabia Mk3 bolero head unit out. The DAB radio has stopped working and from what I can find out it is the aerial that is the problem, VHF has very few stations but MW still work okay. So, I bought a windscreen DAB aerial as I have always had a good signal in my other Skodas using them. Problem is getting the head unit out, it only has two key slots along the bottom and when I insert them it clicks and releases the unit a couple of mm and try as I might it will not budge any further. Its like something is holding on to the unit and I don't want to break  anything. Has anyone any ideas because at the moment the radio is useless.?

I'd say it's likely the antenna on the roof as you say. Water gets into the amplifier that is used for FM and DAB. I think repcaement bases are available, and are usually easy enough to fit.

The head unit isn't one piece. Theres the display with four slots in it two top and two bottom. Then the 'main unit' is behind the side of the glovebox, which has to be removed to get the main unit out.

Four slots? Mine has two on the bottom, cant see any at the top...

I believe yes, four. I never got round to taking mine out, but found something on the forum that said four. Looking at pictures on ebay listings I can see slots in the top, though hard to see. Maybe have another look, perhaps with a torch?

Resolved, yes it does have four slots and with the assistance of others on here I have now managed to get the job done thanks.
