I don't know what ICE system I got, but i tried to play mp4 video from the USB and Memory card in my ICE, but it wasn't successful. I tried to play youtube via SmartLink,but couldn't find a way to do it. Could someone help me if there is any way to play video/youtube  in my ICE. My daughter keeps asking me about video playing in the car.

Columbus plays video if you are parked - otherwise a cheap tablet is your best option. See also my posts 6; 15 and 17 here.

 

That looks like an Amundsen to me so the answer is no.

As YMe says you need Columbus for video unfortunately, Looks like you have a facelift Amundsen.

Really! How strange!!! Yea, i think mine is Amundsen. Can i buy columbus and replace the ICE or there are lot of things involve to replace?

Shopping list for Columbus retrofit:

Screen (if coming from mib1 but you have mib1 so not necessary)

Glovebox head unit

Component protection removal on head unit

Send away old and new unit for coding

 

Budget around £1000 minus screen cost (£100-200 ish) so much cheaper to buy a tablet that said little person can use anywhere.

Only way I managed to play video on admundsen is from mobile over mirrorlink but also with activating video in motion.

OBD11 has an app for video in motion. Just be aware it is not legal in the UK to have video on the dash display while moving.

Obd11 app for activating. 

Mirrorlink is not an app, it has to be built in in your mobile, Huawei mobiles doesn't work, HTC & Samsung should work, and yes mirrorlink is an android app. 

Unfortunately I have huawei mobile phone. So if i download mirrorlink android app, would it be any help and how?

I also have Huawei phone and they don't support mirrorlink. Try to connect to car and in smartlink choose mirrorlink, if it fails to connect then it will not work. Android auto will not allow video unless it is hacked, this is also possible, but too complicated for me, look for it on youtube if you are interested.

Can you still get smart link to show u tube , have tried but for some reason no longer works using u tube tutorial

On YT are also tutorials for android auto hacking but android auto is not available in my country so I have older version of android auto for navigation only that works.
