Hi, clever people,

Would be grateful for advice (Fabia MK II(2009) 1.4TDI 59Kw transmission/engine oil specs/volumes).

1.is it 75W-90, Full Synthetic Oil( transmission)??

2.would it be different for MK III ( 2015) 1.6TDI?

Cheers!

Hi, sorry it's a bit late. On my 2008 1.4 tdi Greenline I used TradeTec XTR 5w30 LS .

Its VW 507 low saps fully synthetic, cost £ 23 ish for 5 litre. Car took over 4.2 ltr when I changed oil , although I do leave it to drain for a while.

Sorry, haven't changed transmission oil yet.

Hi,

thanks a lot! after digging in manual/online did found info on VW 507.

Thank you!

I too, use the low ash/saps 507 on my Greenie. Not sure if you have a DPF or not but if you do, low ash/saps, fully synthetic IS necessary.

In around 150,000 miles, I have yet to change the transmission oil.

DO NOT go over the recommended oil-change schedule, for love or money! The engine and its components will not forgive you!

Took me a while to research the correct oil for the Greenline. Not helped by there being quite a few offers on cheap oil at the time, along with me being the tightest man alive according to the wife. However went with the correct specification oil due to the engine type. On other diesels we've owned just used to use the cheapest going, but I've always changed oil/ filter annually regardless of how small mileage covered and at max 6000 miles. Small price to pay for engine longevity.

I did find all the VW/ low saps / pump dose etc etc specs a bit confusing, even the factor I used initially got the spec wrong.

I am taking a wild guess but did her father pay for the wedding?😇

Nope. £93 at Barkingside registry office paid myself . Wife ( who really should have known better) sent me to Tesco for the wedding cake. Unfortunately for her they had a birthday cake on offer for £3. MIL not impressed but £6 is £6 and we'd been together 7 years already.

Did you get your air con and clutch done?

Still blowing cold in ours.

I have owned my Greenline for two years and have driven it aprox 60'000 kilometers, the most fault free car i've ever owned and it doesnt consume any oil between the changes ( 10000 km ).

4,2 liters liters of 507. oil and filters, costs barely 70 euros in total (I live in Sweden).

Hi Cheapas, I only just spotted the end part of the. Not got either done yet. The clutch is still ok if driving nicely but flat-foot the right pedal and it will spin the engine a bit, until it starts to pull the car along. As for the A/C, I have yet to do that as I am living in hope it is the only fault. I passed the MOT a week or so ago so no complaints on that side of things!

14TDiAlex, My Greenie too, is quite frugal on the oil side of things. Push hard and oil will be lost but only a little and I don't do that much so its not an issue. I get the oil wherever I find the bargain and usually use Bosch oil and air filters, from places such as ECP or CP4L. Probably spending around £30 all in.
