Brake judder

Featured Replies

Dear all

New to Briskoda but an owner of Octavia Vrs estate since 2006.
problem:

Vrs Octavia estate 2004

I Have over the last year had both brake discs and hubs replaced twice due to Brake judder and both discs and hubs were found to be ‘out’ .
There are no issues under normal driving only under braking. Hard braking less so light braking more so.
is it likely to be some area of geometry knocked out through pot holes, has anyone else had same experience.
Ive  had this car since 2006 and 14k miles Now about 198k. Still drives well with a little oil usage.

My first point of elimination would be a wheel or tyre causing it. I've had it catch me out on a caddy before. I changed discs and pads, no improvement. Changed the wheel bearings because one was a bit ropey anyway, still no improvement. Swapped the OSF wheel to the OSR and it solved it 😞

No worries. Obviously that's a no promises, but for a stab in the dark at a fix that doesn't cost anything, it's worth a go.

Mine had quite bad brake judder, turned out to be bushes
