Octavia mk2 1.6dti Serious coolant loss - Help

Featured Replies

Hi

I would appreciate any help with this one - thanks

My wife came home the other day with the skoda octavia mk2 1.6tdi 2010 plate and parked up with no issues but 1 day later tried to head to the shops but the car was screaming low coolant. On checking no coolant in the reservoir so had to abandon the trip.

After extensive inspection it seems we have a sizeable hole on the underside on the plastic pipe (03L 121 065 f) that runs across the front of the engine and round the right hand side heading into the heater matrix.

After many hours of dissembling primarily the area around the right hand side of the engine. Removing the air filter housing, battery and its tray along with half the cooling system to locate the fixing bolts of this plastic pipe.

Im now completely stumped, so close but I cant figure out how to remove the left hand edge of pipe it appears completed fused into the engine behind the fuel pump / alternator.

I know there is a rubber seal on the end of the plastic pipe but how do you remove it. It just seems impossible.

After 5- 6 hours struggling to get to this point can anyone advise how to proceed?

Ive attached the coolant system schematic so everyone can see what I mean..Screenshot_20200524-223956_Gmail.thumb.jpg.cb49fead3dd1f87c0c061932e0dcdc11.jpg
