Octy 2.0TDi Recall - Flywheel

Featured Replies

When I bought mine at the beginning of July this year at 64K I notice a knocking sound and it was confirmed that it was the DMF yesterday, at the beginning of August I called the last place that serviced it and they said mine had a new DMF and clutch fitted at 44k, in April last year

I have contacted Skoda customer care and informed them of the knocking 3 days after I bought the car as the Renault dealer I got it from did not want to know.

Would I now be charged for having it replaced again,, also have they now got an upgraded one they can now fit.

If they decide that they will fit a new one under warranty could I get them to put the single flywheel kit in instead

Does anyone know (have an opinion) if the 1.9tdi 4x4 will suffer the same problems with the clutch/gearbox if the inevitable DMF goes?

I admit I am a complete novice in understanding the complexities of the 4x4/quattro/4motion system.

Had my 07 56 plate TDi vRS in for DMF a few weeks ago. I noticed a vibration/judder when in 3rd gear pulling away at low revs (like when driving between speed bumps). All was alright after they replaced DMF but only 3 weeks later (maybe 500 miles) it is doing the same thing!!!

Technician said about the different makes of DMF and mentioned the single mass flywheel. I just wonder what the difference is between having the single v dual, and if there is no difference then why fit the troublesome dual ones?? If they are not as good in some ways but are just more robust then how can Skoda expect people to be happy having the single one fitted as a remedy??
