Back Windows and Locks no longer working

Featured Replies

Hi, any help.....back electric windows both sides, plus central locking both sides and the 12volt not working. Thought it might be the door loom but that looks ok. All fuses look ok. Any ideas??

almost certainly the wiring has fractured in the boot from a pillar to drivers door

Ok, follow on from the original post - had a few issues to resolve, clock ring replaced and used Carista to clear the codes. The faults with codes  to come back are below - the wires in the door loom look to be a little fractured so they've been checked and look ok - when you say the wiring has fractured in the boot from a pillar to drivers door where do you start with that??

These are the errors -

The wires can crack/break inside the insulation so a visual check is not enough. You'll need to probe them one by one with a continuity tester to check it properly.

Did all these errors occur at the same time?

It would be quite a coincidence for wires in 2 doors to go simultaneously.

Have you checked fuses?

drivers door control module is master powering all other doors (Slaves)

As above.  Take door card of and do end to end continuity

Find what wires are broken then repair with  extra 2 inch piece of wire to stop it happening again

simples

Fuse 32 supplies both J388 and J389.

There is no J398 in my copy of the wiring diagram.

Same problem happened to my superb.

Found 2 broken wires in rubber boot in drivers door hinge. Extra wires soldered in, bit fiddly but all sorted.
