The Fabia (1.4 tdi pd1) is dead....long live the Fabia (1.6cr Monte Carlo)

The downside to a remap is you fill up your DPF quicker and regen more often. If you typically do longish journeys (20miles +) it will not be a problem. I tried a remap and frequently had the yellow warning light which would only go after a 70 mph 20 minute drive. I returned it to standard and chopped in for a 1.9tdi and enjoyed excellent reliability since.

@TheRivieraKid  Doh, yes sorry.

Just wondering what size of tyres with a 35 profile was fitted.

I guess it’s one of those suck it and see things.  Suppose it’s reversible if I got it mapped and found it in any way difficult to live with.

The DPF light came on with the first journey I made in the car, luckily there was just enough diesel in to take it for a longish run.

Out of interest has anyone got a link to 0-60 and top speeds for a remapped 1.6TDI cr?  I hear mapping to 135-145bhp is sensible and doesn’t need further mods.

I’d be interested to see if it can go faster than my first car from the 90s (mk2 Fiesta XR2),  the official figures seem to be indicate the same top speed but the Monte is just over a second slower to 60.  The Monte actually reminds me quite a lot of that car in spirit.

@TheRivieraKid 35 what's?  The Audi A1 competition 122ps came on 225,/35r 18's. Which you could fit on a Fabia but which gave not any better handling and certainly no better ride.

Handling quite good here.

I cant recall exactly but I know they were the stock monte carlo alloys. So if I were to guess,probably a 215/35 r17 because it didnt look massively different than the tires on mine in terms of profile.

 The brochure I got off ebay for one of these say 10.9 second 0 to 62 mph for a standard Tdi 105 Fabia.
