Paddle extensions

Featured Replies

Does anyone have DSG paddle extensions on their car? I am starting to dislike how small they are when standard.

Want something I can fit over the top to make them larger but won't feel or look too cheap

Looking for something cheap and cheerful to improve ergonomics is all really, thanks for the tips!

Aliexpress.com/wish/ Chinese wholesalers.

They basically all originate from china, So if you buy from what usually is 3rd party seller in the uk you pay three times the price. I paid 8 quid for my red ones delivered from aliexpress, You can get the shorter silver ones for a few quid less I'm sure.

They either stick on or some come with a tiny little lug screw to hold them, I have the stick on ones and the tape they provided was crap, Three layers of 3m double sided tape later.....They've been on over a year now.

I was looking at the direct swap ones. Where you remove the pin that hold the oem ones in and swap them for a whole new button.  The youtube videos suggest this is essy enough to do and I found some on Amazon for like £15 all in. Gonna go for them and report back. I wanted some green ones really, but can't find any haha

Not sure you can remove the whole stalk/paddle on ours, I'm positive you cant as they're attached to the steering wheel.

You got a link to these?

They are all different shapes and its hard to tell what will fit and what won't

Mine is a 2012 and the paddles are shaped like below.

Have heard of people having different  shapes in different models, Have a peek or send your phone up on the front camera like I did.

I have the old steering wheel.. which i think i prefer having looked at this one^

I have ordered some silver ones, they have small grub screws and double sided tape to hold them on. I've ordered from Amazon so I can easily return if they don't fit.

I'll report back soon!

The silver ones arrived but did not fit. It seems to ba quite tricky to guess fitment from a picture on the web due to the curvature of the button being convex.

I ordered some 'cheap looking' plastic ones which stated that they fit the Fabia. They arrived the other day and using alcohol and a heatgun I stuck them on with the double sided tape.

Results are as good as I can expect, they are narrow and have not affected my ability to use the stalks, plastic - so a smidge lighter than the aluminium ones I originally ordered and a little more subtle than bright silver.

The play in the button is amplified by extending the size of it and creating a lever effect. I don't think they will ever be a solid motion without wobble as there is a lot of play in the normal paddle. So I'm not going to bother with trying a different part. I like the aesthetic and I rarely use the paddles anyway (and you don't need to be rough with them)
