stupid question

Featured Replies

its a stupid question, but necessary..

Am i the only idiot who has driven a mk 2 octavia around for over a year before realising that each of the 2 keys have different "settings" saved for them with the car?

ie the radio settings, sound setting aircon settings etc?

i used the second key for possibly the first time since i bought the car last April the other day, and thought the battery mustve gone flat because my radio statoons were all saved to the wrong numbers, and the stupid beeps were back.

then yesterday i got in with my regular key and... no beeps, station list normal, and started on the media rather than radio etc.

i never knew the car had that feature!!!

I didn't realise that the personalisation went back to cars from that far!

Not noticed this on a 2005 elegance without the obvious memory stuff like seats because they are not electric. However my Superb 2 has memory seats with the key. Maybe even memory mirrors. Like most stick to just 1 key majority of the time, recently have had both keys used on the Octy not come across differences. Can’t wait to see who else noticed and from what year this commenced 👍

mine is a 2013 mk2. so i reckon one of the last.

doesnt have electric seats, so i dont know about that.

maybe its feature that was being put into the mk3, and the run out mk2 got it as a treat?

Me just not sure too...

FL 2009 elegance.

Any notice  in the manual?

Just to be clear mac, I was laughing at your amusing description of the incident, not mocking your lack of knowledge.

Have this with my 2019 Seat Alhambra, but then this has all the bells and whistles on it. However, never even thought about it on any other car, so I am going to check it out on my Mk2 & Mk 3 Octavias and my VW Sharan!
