My Towbar N/W,,

Featured Replies

Somewhere he wrote that it was his writing style, I cant go back to look for it as I am partially sighted and find the block of text very fatiguing but the reference to style got me thinking

There is punctuation where full stops would be used but there are always 3 of them...also Many words Seem to be Randomly capitalised... I had Initially thought that It Must have been autoCorrect on a smartPhone or something...but now i Am wondering if its an Intentional use of Style?

The time it takes to capitalise random words in a sentence or to always type 3 full stops could be put to better use by using the carriage return key (or whatever it is called) to create paragraphs to make the posting easier to read.

If I had been able to read and understand it I would have done my best to help if I had anything to offer.

My apologies for the seperate paragraphs but I could not bring myself to write this as one big block of text.

There are plenty of members on the forum who own VCDS, including myself. As I'm also in Norfolk, I'm probably not that far away from you depending exactly where you're based.

I'm happy to follow the instructions given by ZacDaMan72. However, you have to realise that the control module software version do change frequently so although the instructions may be perfect for another Kodiaq, it does not mean they'll be correct for yours. I'll take the normal sensible precautions, namely taking an autoscan and also adaption maps from any module I make changes to. At least this way, you know what changes have been made and can revert them if needed. I cannot guarantee success but I can certainly take a look.

Otherwise, you're more than welcome to try coding it yourself with my interface. If you've not used VCDS, I wouldn't recommend this option as its trivial to create problems rather than fix them :)

Just to point out, any changes that either of us make are completely at your own risk. I am not a business and I accept no liability for any issues either directly or indirectly caused by using VCDS on your vehicle.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting any problems. I've worked on 10's of vehicles, including my own, without issue but if warranty and liability are something your concerned about, you should use a dealer or garage that's familiar with this style of retrofit.

Hi Langers2k..  1st thank U very much 4 Replying / Understanding my Post and a Need 4 some Help..         Will make another Paragraph 4 all the English Language Master's..

Thank U 4 the kind offer and yes U Obviously have a clear and full understanding regards messing about with the Mapping parts of the Vehicle's Systems while its under Warranty..

Now I have persuaded a Friend of mine 2 borrow his firms Sun OBE11 Inter-face so we can both have a look at the Diagnostics 4 Tc's & possible Coding.. Not till we R in there wood I be comfortable 2 Re-Program anything..  As I now know the ECU is about £200 to Replace.. Am also thinking of possible Up-Grading my own OBEII Reading..

Now I will Give U a Trophy EmoJi hopefully sending U up the Grand Ranking...   As I do fully Appreciate the Time & Effort taken to make Sensible & Relevant Comment / Reply..

Be careful with the Sun OBDII interface.

While I'm not familiar with that specific tool, most OBDII scanners can't perform coding on VAG cars. Of those that can, few have level of detail VCDS does or indeed the support from both Rosstech and its community to help with any potencial problems.

Typically, unless a change you've made can be shown to directly cause an issue, the warranty should still be valid. For instance, if you change the headunit and the turbo blows up, it should still be covered. Conversely, if you remap the car and the turbo blows up, it shouldn't be. At least that's my understanding but with all things, it depends how much time the owner, the dealership and Skoda UK put into the argument...

Thanks for the help. But isn't that what may of us said?

Just 2 set the Record straight...It was in my Second post that all I needed was the Right Tools Easy 2 sort..  All that was forth coming From all other Members who commented apart from 2 which were Helpful...Was Snipping Sarcastic and very Moronic Stupid comments about any thing other than the Original Post about who I should considered was correct..So 4 all the Parasitic Single Celled Muppet's who have a Massive Void in there own Personal lives which makes them want 2 throw Rocks at any thing They don't Understand...

If the above Fits U perfectly Pls don't Respond Comment or Bother throwing Rocks Stones Etc... Just Please don't waste my time or your own life Skills.. So little as they R...Have a Nice Years And give Yourself's a well needed Hug..  By Your Self's...

No. The above does NOT correspond to me. I've been part of many forums for many years, and you are by far the rudest poster I have ever come across. Please, do not waste my time any more by calling me all the names under the sun, I have more than shown you (if you cared to listen) that I am informed and experienced in what you asked. And I politely and reasonably answered your question from direct and relevant experience and knowledge.

In fact, I'm now pretty sure you are what is known as a Troll. Your presence here is not to obtain information and advice about a problem you had, but to irritate and upset members of a community that tries to help others.

If you are what you say, good luck in getting help that you claim you didn't need. If you are who you appear, good luck in your trolling. Bye!
