2021 Superb release date?

Featured Replies

I would be surprised to see the Mk4 Superb in the UK before 2022 because the Mk2 was launched in 2008 and the Mk3 in 2015 and it is usual for Skoda to have 7 year model cycles.

I'm not sure if it would be a Mk4, but just an update to the Mk3?

For the Superb, the page you linked seems to just show updates to the current Superb including some minor power increases and some additional assistance systems.

I've used area view once on a hired Mercedes Viano; it was excellent!

The MK3 facelift is already onsale and has been for several months with Matrix LED headlights being the main difference over my March 2019 Sportline March 2019 model which has Xenon's.

So the 2021 Superb engine updates bring the new Octavia 197bhp diesel (200PS) and a 276bhp (280PS) petrol engine in the top variant just like the 2015 model. Some progress in 5 years of development. The current 272PS model makes 283bhp (287PS) as standard using Shell V-Power Nitro+ 99 octane fuel for comparison.

Yeah, I have a MK3 FL on order but it seems pointless getting a new car if they release an updated version a couple of months after I get it..

The engine is getting bumped back up to 280PS/206kW and the addition of area view is something I'd want as this is a feature the passat has had for ages already

So if you order a new build and it doesn't get built till they start on the updated version, does that mean you get the updated one? Shirley they wouldn't revert the assembly line just to build the old (current) version? Or is there usually a cut off date or break with a switch over? With the long lead times often quoted for car builds being exaggerated due to covid, would it be sensible to wait a couple of months?

During the summer shutdown in 2021 (JULY/AUGUST) the production lines will be updated so the new versions will be available in the UK from September 2021 on a 71 plate. You would need to order May 2021 to secure one of these.

It's just the Model Year changes, as it happens every year, with every model - in this case MY21.

They r definitely not making a new Superb any time soon given the facelift was just released.

Looks like the next Passat is 2023 so '24 for the Superb ?

Wondered what they will do with the Superb interior.

New touch HVAC from new Arteon and stickup screen like the A4 ?

I will keep my Mk3 because I hate dash top screens and my Sportline 3 spoke steering is perfect like the car it replaced Octavia Vrs245.

I wouldn't buy one for other reasons but I have to say the Merc E class dual screens work well in terms of height and styling

I used to hate 'stick on tablets' but I have come to realise that with smartphone mirroring  you do need a high screen otherwise you spend too long looking down when navigating etc

Sorry, model year change is what I meant as opposed to a new version

I’ve asked the dealer about deferring my build

Hi

I have had a Superb on order since February-ish and the dealer told me it is not in production yet and they may be waiting to put it in the new model year (2021).

I saw on-line it basically means a new steering wheel! The same as in the new Octavia. The 3-spoke looks ok but not the 2-spoke. Mine is SEL so not sure what I will end up with!

Due beginning of September.

Dealer didn’t bother to inform me that mine had already been built and due to arrive in September

Oh well, Skoda NZ don’t even know when we’re getting MY21 here, useless, but I should be able to trade up with little hassle
