How do I check the oil level in the gearbox, I have had a look around the case and cannot see any filler bung type nuts? The gearbox is a little whiny on decelleration and stiff when cold, I assume it could need a top up.

check the level by undoing the speedo cable wher it attaches the the gearbox you only need to undo one nut. carefully pully away the cable off the box, carefully remove the small rod (just pull it carefully) that the cable attaches to, it will have a cog on the end, the rod should have a mark on it - this is how you read the level, topping up is a right kerfuffle you will need to top up through this hole too.
