Air cleaner element

2019(On buying the car-60k)

I'VE ONLY DONE 8K SINCE SEPTEMBER-because of lockdown

I cant see evidence of major servie

All skoda history says -Oil change service

Any recommendations for type of work/service i should request please!!!

The garage is an independent skoda/ vw specialist

Mine is a 63 plate on 71k and I've just had the cambelt and water pump done. I'm not sure but I think the intervals for later models may be longer but worth checking either way.

Just thinking aloud here as the question is a tad confusing:  eg First service coming up at 70k?  That may be the first service under your ownership but won't be the vehicles 1st service.

You also say service history shows that for a 2016 car, the first mention of any service was at 2yr 45k !!!   Even for variable/long life servicing that has to be wrong.

2017  ?  I'm going to assume there was a service carried out in 2017 @ approx 20kmiles, ( the 2018 / 45k is still over the limit mind you )

2018 - The pollen / air / fuel filters and brake fluid would be correct for a 40k service so that sounds OK.  In theory the brake fluid should have been changed in 2019, but then again it may have needed changing.

2019 - 60k miles  pollen filter is correct. Brake pads would be maintenance. So that is correct.

Upcoming service for 2020.

Your car is on the variable service regime, unless of course somebody changed it.  It all depends on what sort of driving you do. If it's around town, short trips then changing to a yearly service may be a good idea. If however you do longer journeys - ie. the engine is up to temp for the majority of the time and you're not hard on the engine, then you may wish to stick to variable servicing. That's to say it won;t need servicin until 2021 or until it reaches 80k miles, whichever is the sooner.

If you do wish to have the car serviced annually then the garage is right, you only need an oil and filter change. ( + various checks of course ). As it's been 2yr since the brake fluid was changed, you may want to consider that to ( it's recommended to be changed every 2yr )

Your 2021 service is going to be a big 'un tho...  It will be the same as the 2018 service so in addition to an oil + filter change it will need pollen / air / fuel filters. Again it may need brake fluid - all depends if you had it done in 2020. But it's recommended you have the cambelt changed. And being the diesel, it's probably wise to have the waterpump changed at the same time. You won't get much change out of £800 at main dealer prices. ( excluding brake fluid ).

Hope that helps. Given the subject is servicing then others may disagree. Correction, they probably will. :D
