Drivers window fault - it works but it doesn't

Featured Replies

There's something up with the drivers window on my 4x4. Going down it works totally normally (except that pressing the switch all the way down and letting go doesn't make it go all the way down like wiht the others). But putting it up it has 3 issues:

  • When using the key: If I hold down the unlock button all windows will open as per settings. If I hold down the lock button, all except the driver's will close. Drivers doesn't move. (But will go up manually if I put the key in, turn on the electric and use the switch, though then it does the below:

  • When putting it up normally, if it's 'working', I have to press the switch 3x as it only goes up by 1/3rd each time.

  • If it's being really annoying, when I pull the up switch, it will go up roughly 1/3 then all the way back down again. It will do this again then next 2 times I try, before allowing me to put the window up fully (again though, only a third at a time).

The latter issue is almost like it's got a built in safety feature to stop trapped fingers - but if I put my arm in whilst putting it up, it doesn't stop so I don't know what's going on.

Anyone else had this? I can't understand what's causing it.

Cheers
