New Karoq - question on some issues

Hi guys - no the alignment I guess it's clear to me: electric boots seem to have this "misalignment".

regarding the paint job, to be honest I dont think it was damaged and repaired - if it was I dont think I'll ever find out.

I talked to them and I will take the car in.

I guess they need to file an official complaint to skoda for the zero post production inspection and in my turn I will file a complaint for the no PDI from their side.

I can always shoot an email to skoda my self but I think at this stage I wont.

I reside in Cyprus btw.

Thoughts?

Seems the sensible approach to me.

I have no idea what laws are in Cyprus but as said previous I'd have rejected the car, or to be more exact, I wouldn't have accepted it in the first place.

What I suspect the manufacturer will say is they'll offer to repaint the car and offer you compensation.  If that's what happens what's your thoughts?

I guess they will paint the front left fender where there is that small crack. I dont think they will offer compensation. Of course it depends how far I will stress this.

In terms of accepting it, I didnt check all the details upon accepting it. Some of these you need to sit and observe within the back lights etc.

I am not an expert but the other cases where it seems the paint dropped I dont think it needs repainting. I will provide you some more photos as I don't see this paint thing being a huge issue.

Well it's your call whether you're happy to have the car like this, but I'd say it's definitely poor quality, and if the dealer claims 'they're all like that' make him show other new cars in the showroom that are just as bad. Ask him to realign the boot and correct the paint problems and rubber seal around the light fitting.

After that, your rights are governed by your consumer rights in Cyprus. I think I'm right in saying you are part of the EU, so do you have protection in that goods have to be of merchantable quality? Do you have the right to reject it for being unsatisfactory? Do you have any kind of free legal advice available to you equivalent to the British Citizens Advice Bureau, or our Trading Standards advisers?

I'd be worried about water leaks shorting out wires or getting into the boot at the very least if it were my car!

Their Warranty Manager or someone with a bit of knowledge at the dealership will have a paint thickness measuring device and maybe even know what thickness they are checking for with to the 'Factory Spec'.

It is all basic stuff, because obviously not all are 'how this one is'.
