ABT map

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I've just pushed the button and ordered a kodiaq vrs in crystal black (very excited).

Has anyone here got one and had the abt map?

I've contacted Richther Sport in Milton Keynes who have quoted £1320 inc vat to do it. This is twice and three times the prices of maps ive had in the past.

Can anyone tell me more about it and if you felt it was worth it?

Also can anyone recommend and garages that do it or are they all similarly priced?

Cheers

@tfeb

Is the difference in price from them in the UK compared to other World Regions because it is with a 'Warranty' that is actually worth the paper it is written on?

The Tuning Boxes used to be 3 times the price in the UK compared to others and again had a 'Warranty' on engine failures, not just on the product and leaving you to fight it out with the VW Group.

Is it the price only for remap? Seems expensive, considering you only get extra 30 HP and 40 Nm. And not even a remap, but chip.

I have BSR remap. + 52 HP and 91 Nm.

587 EUR with OBD device and you can do all by yourself.

The BSR remap is the first one I’ve seen that sends it out with the ‘programming device’ as standard. There haVe been companies in the past which charged extra for this but that may have included additional safety maps too. Quite a good price compared to a ‘normal’ remap.

Bluefin / Superchips did the same, I had one on my Mondeo about 10 years back.

& they went into receivership.  I hope their Warranty / Guarantee came from a 3rd party.

Maybe they will rise phoenix like.

Regarding a warranty with ABT, my Cupra would have had to have been remapped prior to delivery to actually get that. In fact they don’t even do aftermarket maps (for Cupra) due to a big SEAT hand on their shoulders.
