Drilled or non drill dog guard?!

Featured Replies

Hey 👋

So one reason I've bought the kodiaq is to accommodate for our newest member of the family Rufus! He's a Doberman / Dogue De Bordeux and he's going to be a big lad!

I'm trying to figure out what's the best set up to have for him (rear two seats will be down).

Has anyone here got the drilled dog guard?? I personally don't care about the fact it drills holes in the roof and what I'm more keen to understand is doesnt it offer any extra security and stability over the non drilled version?

Also is it easy or difficult to take out and put back in??

Any views would be greatly appreciated.

For what it's worth, I have an Octavia and a big strong dog and I put a Travall in, with no drilling of holes. I've had to tighten it a couple if times but my Mastiff cross has never caused an problem with it.

We have a Guardsman dog guard and boot divider. No drilling required. The divider splits the boot 50:50 so we can have dog one side and luggage the other. Even with the luggage side piled high with quite heavy items it has alway proved very secure and kept the luggage and dog apart.

Thanks both. The dealer was pushing me to a non drilled version too.

Oh and we bought a Kleinmetall DogWalk 3 ramp ( I think from zooplus) which has been excellent  - we have a golden retriever and the boot is a bit too high for her to jump into. This ramp actually has proper surface for them to grasp into,  seems to be well made and strong.
