Trouble starting after sitting for sometime

No, you'll just have to crank it longer.

Hi. Don't know if you've fixed your problem yet but I had a similar  problem as you with my 2009 Octavia 1.9pd. a couple of years ago. Problem went on  for over a year till I found the cause.  Parking the car pointing downhill used to help. Was convinced it was  fuel running back to the fuel tank over a few hours. Garage found no fault codes. I posted on here asking for help. Like you I replaced the heater plugs. I also replaced the pickup fuel pump under the rear seat and the Tandem fuel pump. Also replaced the Fuel Temp. Sensor. All to no avail. Turned out to be a faulty injector. Been running fine this past year.  Good luck.

Hi Roger, thanks for sharing your experience and solution of a similar problem. I haven't managed to fix the problem as yet because I haven't been able to locate the air leak that's entering between the filter bowl and the injectors as I was told on the forum that that may be the cause. The starting appears to of improved significantly over these past few colder weeks which may suggest it's not a fueling or vacuum leak issue at all, I'm not too sure.

I'm just trying to manage the problem as best I can for now and then may be see about getting it relooked at in the new year

Thanks again,

Tom
