Memory driver's seat

Featured Replies

Still considering what to buy........

Having had the optional electric memory drivers seat on my 2013 Elegance I really would like the benefit on my next car.

The Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona have electric seats but NOT with a memory so I was wondering if anyone has had experience of swapping the electric memory components from one Yeti to another which wasn't built with them? Can the electronics in the car ECU be adjusted to cope?

Is this a job for a car trim company rather than an independent VAG specialist?

I have seen the SE-L model which has everything else I need but not one with the memory seats - even the L&K doesn't have them. I'm glad I ticked the option box when I bought this one but at 111,000 miles I want a change.

Ideas, please, keen guys.

My 16 plate SE L Drive Outdoor has the heated leather seats with electric adjustment and memory for the driver's seat.  I bought it in February this year with 34K miles on it.

You might get lucky and find one of those.

Having said that, mine is a 150 TDI which might not be what you're looking for and my friendly, local, Skoda dealer did say that the

electrically adjustable seat was rarer than a rare thing.  He said it was because it was an option and most of the late model Yetis were built from the factory, rather than to customer

orders.

You need someone who knows their way around VCDS to establish if it's possible to retrofit a memory seat and have it coded in.  My guess is that it will be but it might be worth enquiring on a VCDS users forum.

I was looking at a new Karoq Scout in a showroom recently and that had a memeory drivers seat? Not sure if standard or not. (In York)

I have the memory seat in my SE L Drive car which was one of the last Yeti's built, but it was ordered months before with this and a number of other extras. As you say there were a lot of Yeti's built speculatively at the end to fill up production slots, and most of those had no extras, just variations in colour, engine and standard spec level to use up components in hand. (I had planned on getting the L&K, but they stopped taking orders the day before I committed to buy my car, and only the SEL Drive could be ordered; I even had to change colour as the colour choice was reduced at the end as well! Avoided the sunroof issue and brown seats though, so overall am happy this happened)

I also had it in my second 2014 Elegance  Yeti and it is so much more comfortable than the standard seat I had in my first Yeti Elegance from 2010
