Ordered the L & K Estate for my Wife yesterday, only snag is probably March delivery, will know for sure on Monday. still thank god it will be bye bye Vectra

Finally sold the Scoob & picked up my 4x4 on Saturday, initial impressions are VERY VERY good, its only done 1400 miles so need to be gentle for a while. (corners bloody well!!!)

Wendys L&K is due for collection on Friday Morning so a 2 Octavia family, we only went out a few months ago looking for a Diesel for her & now have 2 Octavias, must say something about the cars or us.

As far as selling the Scoob, unbelievably I have no regrets, great car but cost an absolute fortune to run & was by no means the most reliable car in the world

In time I will probably miss is the 300 horses but Tavia has given me a couple of pointers on how to overcome that. The thing I dont want too loose is the smooth power delivery, the scoob was "f" all below 4000 & then it all happened, You were often caught out with turbo lag, their was a lot of second off the lights but in front after 100 yards if you know what I mean.

Are your 2 Octavias both hatchbacks or estates? Which colours have you got? ....and i take it you are both enjoying the cars?

Wendy - Eucalyptus L&K Estate 1.9 TDI due Friday

Stuart - Silver 4x4 Hatch - loving it, just got to get some miles on it so it can be played with !!!!!!!!!!

Hi Stuart,

I'm sure you're going to enjoy both motors.

Purely out of interest which dealer did you (if you did) get them from?

What was your experience of them etc?

I think it's quite a good idea that all Briskoda "Brothers and Sisters" ( ) share their experience of dealers and hopefully we'll all get better service.

Cheers.

Adrian.

The L&K is coming from Sparshatts in Fareham. To date they have been very helpful & profesional , Found the exact colour we wanted in 2 weeks wheras everyone else was talking Factory build (April del) & matched the best price I could get on the net

Tel 01329 828727 Ask for Steve or Ivan

Re the 4x4, Marshalls in Ipswich sold the car as part of their opening promotion in January somewhat discounted. I missed the deal but the sales manager was incredibly helpful. The person who bought the car got a company car 3 weeks later so the dealer gave him my number.

So I got a 4x4, 1400 miles, balance of 3 year warranty, AA etc for 10500, still cant believe it.

Tel 01473 320250 Ask for Simon (they also matched net price on the L&K)

My tips if you are buying new or nearly new

!. Find the best price on the Internet

2. Contact Skoda & ask for a list of UK dealers, I said I was looking for a specific car in a specific colour needed it quickly. Then get on the phone, some dealers appear to be very keen to shift as many cars as poss, they must get some sort of volume bonus. One dealer showed me his Invoice from Skoda (Neither of the ones above) & the mark up on the L&K is less than

Not what I've heard about their Botley branch though! :P

Did you try Derek Warwick in Southampton? If so, how did you find their

attitude?

Rob,

Sparshatt at Botley are the Subaru franchise & they are ***********

Their nick name locally is Shatts, I will leave you to work the rest out. If you ever go on Scoobynet go onto Southern & ask Jen what she thought of them. Shes had major first hand experiences !!!!!!

Derek Warwick in Southampton gave up their Skoda franchise a couple of weeks ago. The whole Derek Warwick group with the exception of the Jersey Dealer (where Derek Lives) was sold & the new owner for whatever reason parted company with Skoda & just maintained Honda.

We did chat with them & they seemed OK ish

Yeah, that's where I heard it from! Shockingly bad job they did on her

Scoob.

Really?! Blimey. Actually, I phoned a place in Oldham that used to be

a Skoda dealer and they told me they were no longer a franchise. They

explained this was because Skoda had told them to build a new

showroom, but they couldn't afford to do this and so relinquished the

franchise...

Skoda wanting all flash showrooms,

theyll be selling Audis next or maybe skip the Audi & go for the Bentley marque VW now own !!!!

Yeah, I was looking at the Audi A2 at the same time as the Octavia and

I did notice a marked similarity in the "distinctive" curved roof showrooms.

Unfortunately, I don't think the designers of these structures countered on

the winds we get in these parts, and they are pretty unpleasant places to

be in when there's some inclement weather!

Wouldn't mind the Bentley's though - could be good if they were a bit thin

on the ground with Fabia's to give you as a courtesy car...

:driving:
