Brake pedal going soft

Featured Replies

Got a 1.4 16v Fabia from 2000, the brake pedal loses pressure and requires you to push really far down to get any application. Had the rear drums cleaned out and the front disks replaced by a local garage a few months back as they started humming then locked on a little bit which caused them to get very toasty.

Anything obvious to check before taking it into the garage? Losing pressure in the pedal would make me think there's air in the system but I'm not sure... Any ideas?

Going to scan it with VCDS now.

The brake servo vacuum hose. The junctions of the hard plastic sections where they are stretched to breaking point over hose barbs.

People will say that the symptoms don't fit that, but well worth checking anyway.
