Rubbing/grinding sound on idle, clutch?

Featured Replies

When I first start the car up and let it idle, there's a running/grinding sound which disappears when I put the clutch in. Doesn't seem to happen when the engines warm. Any ideas?

How much do you reckon that'd be to sort out?

I'd put up with it, which Fabia have you got?

Nope, just checking gearbox oil level will tell you if the seals leaking yet.

I didn't do this and just drove on - ended up with a broken box and taking the centre out of the clutch plate !! I could have saved myself 2 weeks and about €1000 !
