Cambelt kit?

Featured Replies

I have a fabia vrs 2006. From what people have said gates is the go to, but I've got a good offer of either a INA or SKF which will save some money. Anyone used theses before?

INA and SKF make the idlers and tensioners, no idea which belts they use in their kits though. Gates make belts, the belt is the really important bit.

Try getting a price on a VAG genuine kit, the tensioner is of superior quality to the aftermarket parts and most of the cost is the investment of time in the labour to do the work, you'll need locking tools as well if you're going to DIY.

I bought the gates one last year and fitted for around £90 if I remember right, Dayco is a popular belt used by a good lot of other kits. I did the Aux belt and pulley also at the same time, again used Gates one.

Gates TB Kit: Amazon Germany - If you have a no fee card (Monzo, Starling, Revolut etc) works out around £87.50 with postage included.

Gates Aux Kit: Gates (Paid something like £35-£40)

I have used Ina/skf and gates...

All those have done what they have to do...

About 5 years or 90.000km...

Ended up buying the gates powergrip water pump kit for £95

Gates make very good belts. They are even used in Gtech vacuum cleaners and other stuff.
