Milltek Backbox

Not heard a Milltek but I have a Blueflame turbo back on mine and at under £400 fitted was a worthwhile upgrade, definately noticeable improvement. The sound of any of the exhausts don't take away the diesel note but when you stretch your right foot you get a nice whistle/whoosh sound which is quite noticeable inside the car. Lummox said his Milltek that he had on his old Furby did the same whistle aswell but he had the full system.

I was speaking to a guy (forgot his name, sorry!!!) last week. He had a silver vRS with a full Miltek system on, he got it from Star Performance up here in Scotland and when they put it on the rollers it pumped out 157 BHP!!!!!!! Standard car apart from the exhaust and pd160 intake!!! Good result eh?

Wow:eek:

Wow:eek:
Exactly!!!! I'm sure he said it was 140BHP standard b4 he put the exhaust and intake on, in any case, a 17BHP gain for an exhaust is brilliant right?!!

Did they do a before and after on the Rollers?

Remember that some std. Furbys churn out around 140-145 std on some rollers. I think mine was 143 bhp std. on Jabba's rollers.

Milltek claim 8-10 bhp increase IIRC.

Yeah they done a b4 and after. 140BHP standard, then 157BHP with the exhaust on!! Cant remember the guys name, he said hes on here sometimes. I met him in the doctors carpark in Broxburn, so if your reading this mate, let us know the full details on your day at Star!!!

If you want to reduce Diesel rattle there is a Seat Soundproofing kit you can get part no. 0381039544 for approx. £35.

It's a foamy thing that goes over your engine. The Milltek alone won't drown out the clatter when it's at idle which is where it's most prominent

But....it's.....a......diesel.....engined.....car:confused: Surely if that was a problem you'd have got a petrol engined car:confused:

Ho hum, maybe I am missing something.

Anyway, regardless of the 'noise', the milltek looks much better than the standard zorst, I really like the double pipe and would buy it JUST for it's look, and nowt else.

I don't have a problem with my car being a diesel I just think it would be nice to make it sound a bit better. One of the reasons I bought the car is because of it's fuel economy, I love the fact that I can burn other petrol cars off and then know that they'll be thinking "****, where's the next petrol station!"
