The car is a motobility car & we have arranged to pick the car at Arnold Clarks dealership in Edinburgh because they closed their Skoda dealership here in Inverness. Don't why because there a lot of Skoda's in and around Inverness.

Several dealers have closed following covid, presumably the owners have been looking at their profit margins like shops and cutting out the weakest performing. But It's a long way from Inverness to Edinburgh! If I'm up there on holiday, I'd be hoping to find at least a service garage up in the North East! I'd have thought there was a big enough market between Inverness, Perth and Dundee to make a dealership viable? So hopefully Skoda UK will find a replacement for you :)

The local AVG dealer ship have taken over the service dealership. Pity they didn't take over the sales dealership. Family firm be trading approx 65 years.

Can I presume you have a   Skoda dealership yourself??

It's good to hear you've got a local service franchise :) But no I've no connection with the motor industry except as a long-serving customer!

Or were you wondering about my local dealers? I've got a choice of 4 scattered around me, between 11 and 17 miles away. So it's quite handy to be able to compare deals and cars.

If car is being produced in September will it have 20 or 70 plate??

@CJJE

There is a very good Skoda Garage in the North East of Scotland.

They have all the gear and more than just ideas at Victoria Garage Maud.  http://victoriagarage-maud.co.uk

What a pity that can not be said always for Skoda Specialist Cars Perth & Aberdeen, part of the John Clark Motor Group.

Things are better in the Dundee branch.

As to AC and Skoda in Inverness.

The posts in the Dealership section says a fair bit on that.

If the business is there for Skoda in Inverness then one might expect PARKS to be having a dealership.

They are a whole other kettle of fish....

Where do I find dealership section??

@WalkerN

Could Arnold Clark Skoda Edinburgh not have arranged your Motability Car collection in Inverness at their Dealership and with a Motability Specialist in that Dealership?

The Salesperson i ordered the Vauxhall car i got a 5 weeks ago was off on furlough and their was no Motability Trained person available so i got my car handed over by a KIA Sales person that was the Motability Specialist.

It so happens that the dealerships have the same owners and are only a 100 yards apart, but i had the same in the past with a Skoda Dealership Employee handing over a SEAT to me.

AC might well say 'Not possible', expense to Inverness etc etc.   I think Motability will say different given the circumstances of AC being the ones that closed the Inverness Dealership.

Scotlands biggest Motor Group can dig deep or not as the Transporters are up and down the A9 all the time anyway.

Karoq to be in Edinburgh in 4 to 5 days from 16/09/2020 . How accurate is the mpg reading on car??

All cars registered in UK after 1st September will have a 70 plate (unless you want to have a personal plate on it instead in which case it could be an older number).

So cars produced in September, transported to the UK and then registered, will normally be 70s.

I fill my cars brim to brim, recording the mileage and amount to fill. The calculated mpg is usually a bit worse than that predicted by the car. But it's handy to see how journeys compare in the car between refills.

No inbuilt satnav (assuming same as 2020MY), but CarPlay works a treat with Google Maps.  And no hassling with updating.  :thumbup:

whats CarPlay??

Where the screen acts as an extended screen of your iPhone.  I think there’s an Android version.  If you don’t have either then it’s the good old road atlas time.
