5 speed gearbox bushing?

Featured Replies

Anyone know the part number for the bushings for the five speed manual gearbox?

I am after the plastic part that sits under the shift gaiter and is in the lateral movement pivot point. Specifically the shim or bushing part that sits inside the left to right pivot.

I have attached a photo. It is the part that has changed to yellow cheese on the left of the shifter.

Don't know your model year but here are the gearbox part diagrams for a MY07 to get you started ...

Is there actual wear issue?  It looks like dried old grease.

I see now what the part should look like, a washer and circlip fix?

Looking at the design there should be a plastic hat or bushing part in the bell crank that the lever pushes on.

Whilst I know I should be buying the newer style kit (from what I can see)

This does look like a much cheaper solution

It's just that that's for the older style gearbox and I am not sure that that bushing will fit in.

I guess I am going to have to measure the gap, it's only a small plastic bushing that has a t shape cross section. I guess I could turn one out of a solid piece of nylon.

Looks easy enough to pop the mechanism out to get to the side ball joint:
