5Q0035874A SmartLink and CP Removal

Featured Replies

Sorry for asking what is probably the same question millions of times.

I have an Octavia with a MIB1 installed. I’ve just acquired a 5Q0035874A and need advice on what the next steps are. I’ll be buying an 8” screen when pay day come.

I’m looking for SmartLink & CP removal. The existing car doesn’t have NAV so I assume I’ll need a GPS aerial?

Yes, you will need GPS aerial if your unit is capable of navigation features. The fec and swap codes will be your enemy if the unit is not already patched for your car.  Dealer could remove the CP for you ,but if they will do the online coding you will just gain bigger display and none of your NAVi features because of the fec and swap codes what you dont have activisation for.

Cheers for the update.
When you say the fed and swap codes will be the enemy, I take it a 3rd party will be able to help?

CP removal and the recoding can be done by third party, but Smartlink currently can be activated only by Skoda,

That's not true. Smartlink can be activated by third party too. If you have correct solution. Question of few minutes.
