Broken tail light

Featured Replies

Unfortunately my tail light inner left on the tail gate is cracked / broken off. The benefit of living in the UK and the LED high type, is that it is specific to the UK, assuming it has something to do with fogs.

So can someone explain the difference between: 3V5 945 307 D and 3V5 945 307 E. Seems like D variant is widely available and the E variant less so.

Alternative is if anyone knows the exact colour of the red plastic bit that covers it, I am more inclined to just cover it up since there are no LED inside just a reflector in the broken part. See image attached.

Open to any suggestions as well.

D is the earlier unit, yours is the E, the later unit that has those floating silver rectangular reflectors inside the lamp.  €70 from Superskoda.

Would you be kind enough to link it please. I cannot even find any tail lights on superskoda. Search doesn't return anything either.

Assuming the bottom one is the newer (E) version?

Thank you.. but isn't that for the estate version?

Mine is the hatch

Thanks guys. Was kind of hoping to get away doing it cheaply. Functionality still exists. Thinking of getting a Dremel out and getting rid of the red bits left and put a new red plastic on top instead..

Need to find the right plastic and it's curved which makes it slightly more difficult

You can patch it up with some red lens repair tape. A roll costs around £3 from many places, Ebay, Amazon, ECP, Carparts4less Halfords etc etc.

MOT compliant if you're wondering......

Phone your local TPS to get trade price for the genuine part

Try phoning Horton Skoda parts, who have always been fairly good at discounting genuine parts, they'll also tell you the correct part no for your particular reg. No.

Phone your local ECP and they can get you a price on a pattern part.

Likely to be some lenses lying around in scrapyards attached to writeoffs but not sure if you could get them a lot cheaper as scrappies have become greedy in recent years.

Start here, and make an enquiry with your exact requirement

That's some great info there.

I knew about the 3m tape/lens cover. Just thought it wouldnt look authentic.

I'll look at tps, never knew that one before.

I'll phone ecp but their online website doesn't have anything on it.

Tell me about the scrapyards! I enquired only 1 got back to me for £156 used!

I was looking around for a spare door handle to replace one of mine and came across this breaker on eBay.

Though it seems to be the D variant yet it has that floating triangle. Good luck!

Thank you.

Just an update, enquired around,

Johnson's: 142

All electric: 126

Hortons: 114

Tps: 114.25

Is there much difference in the estate version Vs the hatchback version, they look the same to me ...
