I have always hated the stupid stick that originally held the bonnet up and a set of gas struts have been on the cards for a while now but I could never justify £40 for them from SuperSkoda. I was recommended this set from eBay for £7.50 that do the job just as well. They are a little longer than the ones from SuperSkoda but they work really well as you can see.

They lift the bonnet well too :)

They take only minutes to fit once you have a 10mm socket to remove the ring bolts and an M10 spline tool to remove the bolt that holds the bonnet hinge on. Much better than the stupid stick!!

Price is now £8.58 but still worth it :D

I bought a pair of those last year, came with loads of end fittings, only needed one to hold up the bonnet on the Octavia so put the other one on my neighbours car as a surprise while doing a repair, only cost £7 back then but like today the price fluctuates as people spread the W.O.M. and they start selling in numbers, then the cycle starts again.

highly recommended, why pay more?

Has anyone fitted bonnet struts to a Yeti yet?

I think I'll go with the cheaper option, as I'm only keeping the car for another year or so, so it's not worth spending a fortune on it.

I can also confirm that I've had a pair of the cheapo ones from ebay fitted for the last 18 months. No problems at all. They work great.

I actually went MoR price £19 delivered. When I can get the socket set out of the garage, I will fit it.

I'm going to leave the existing bonnet strut in situ, so if I raise the bonnet in windy conditions it will act as an extra bit of support.
