Heads up display not showing traffic signs

Featured Replies

You are right. But if I understand correctly, traffic sign recognition is working on digital dashboard but not on the HUD. Reading the response from customer service, it seams that when they say "HUD traffic sign is not available" it must be some kind of regulatory thing and the UK dealer disabled this feature.

Unfortunately that is not the case. It doesn not show on the digital dashboard

Than you have general problem with traffic sign recognition.

Try this in navigation settings:

Route guidance settings -> Road signs -> Show on map

Route guidance settings -> Tap Signs on long-distance roads

I have an SEL first edition and the heads up display doesn't display speed limits for me here in the UK.

What can you have on the display? I’ve just ordered one with it. Thanks.

All I can see is my traveling speed and lane assist. I wouldn't pay extra for it to be honest. I don't feel it is worth it.

Thanks. Can only hope it’s updated at some point. £700 is a lot extra to pay for it.

Did you spec the Travel Assist option? That’s what gives you the traffic sign recognition.

I got current speed, speed limit & and certain other traffic signs, ACC data and warning from for example front assist and finally navigation data. It also helps with my farsightedness. I like it and i feel it was a good choice for me. Might be less useful to others.

What is travel assist exactly?

I have only just ordered my car today. I have selected travel assist.

I posted the screenshot from the website earlier. It’s cameras that give you more advanced lane assist and cruise control,

So does the hud in the uk have the signs or not if you have the travel assist option? No one seems to have confirmed in the thread yet.

You can’t have travel assist then. Otherwise it would show on the dashboard.

Hmm. Well I have traffic jam assist. I am unsure what 'adaptive lane assist' actually is, predictive cruise control looks the same as adaptive cruise control, but I don't have traffic sign recognition.

I think these things all go by lots of different names even within OEMs. Not sure what predictive cruise control is (I think it might be it also looks at road signs and slows down when you enter a slower area?), but adaptive lane assist I think puts you in the middle of the lane. Anyone know for sure?

It would seem that a lot of these things will be possible when vcds works. As the majority use existing hardware and it's just deactivated software stopping it from working .

We specced Travel Assist and it includes lane centering, where it nudges the steering wheel to keep you in the middle of the lane rather than just vibrating when you cross a lane line. Works pretty well

What I'm trying to find out is if the traffic sign recognition that comes with Travel Assist works with the adaptive cruise control to slow the  car automatically as it spots a new speed limit sign. Would be pretty helpful
